Symbolism in Hawthorne's "Young Goodman Brown"

1) Faith's pink ribbons: a symbol of her innocence.
2) The staff: was a symbol of how the old man in the woods tempted Goodman Brown
3) The forest: in a way was a symbol of hell.  A place where no one wanted to go and explore.
4) The old man: He symbolized the devil and evil temptation when luring Goodman Brown into the forest
5) The voices in the forest: Made him think his wife, Faith, was going to the dark side.
